- Cooperative Solution by AZAPA Co, LTD and dSPACE is realized
May 20, 2014: AZAPA Co, LTD (Headquarters: Nagoya city Aichi prefecture, president & CEO Yasuhiro Kondo, hereafter called "AZAPA"), which provides solutions and the creation of value for automobiles over the entire field of power train based on automobile engine control using model based technology, and dSPACE Japan K.K. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku Tokyo, president: Hitoshi Arima, here after called "dSPACE Japan") have reached an agreement to jointly promote development in the area of automobile safety systems. The two companies will provide cooperative solutions in the testing environment and development support using the model based method.
Mr Yashuhiro Kondo, the President & CEO of AZAPA, made the following statement, giving high praise to the actual performance of the control system tools provided by dSPACE: "In the evolution of the automobile, in order to speedily develop diversified functional systems, model based development becomes essential. When considering the trade-off between product attractiveness and cost reduction, an approach to control technology using "Visualization" over a broad area and total optimization has definite competitive power. With the methods provided by dSPACE, a leading company in this field and AZAPA's core technology in the power train field, we hope to respond to the high level of customer demands."
"In the future, in order to respond to a broad range of customer demands, we feel that a wide variety of engineering services are necessary. At this time, by cooperating with AZAPA, we believe we can increase the choices of engineering services for the customers. First of all, we will kick off our collaboration with engineering services for model based development.", said Hitoshi Arima, president of dSPACE Japan.
Both dSPACE Japan and AZAPA will make presentations at the "2014 AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING EXPOSITION", which will be held at PACIFICO YOKOHAMA on this May 21st (Wed) through 23rd (Fri) (AZAPA: Booth No. 151, dSPACE Japan: Booth No. 14). In the AZAPA booth, AZP-LSEV, an EV vehicle jointly developed by the two companies using the model based method, will be on display.
In addition, on May 22nd (Thur) at 13:00 to 13:30 at the AZAPA booth, a talk session by both companies, about "Model Based Development in the Fields of Automobile, Education, and Energy" will be held. We extend an invitation to all of you to attend.
AZP-LSEV in Brief
Making great use of experiences (engine control technologies, simulation technologies, vehicle developments, and measurement technologies, etc.) accumulated from our involvement in automobile development so far, AZP-LSEV is an Electric Vehicle (EV) originally developed by AZAPA from a fusion of control technologies + IT technologies, which is a far cry from conventional Electric Vehicles.
Utilizing this vehicle as a platform vehicle, with the purpose of providing value to society with new technologies, we promote research and development, reaching for new automobile and EV technologies, control technologies, IT tie-up, and fusion with unique next generation technologies.
MicroAutoBox II in Brief
Real-Time Interface (RTI), without the need for programming skills.
MicroAutoBox II can be used in many different fields such as driving support systems, automobile body control, power train (internal-combustion engine, hybrid, and Electric Drive, etc.), X-by-Wire, as well as the aerospace industry.
About AZAPA Co, LTD
In order to realize "Harmony between Humans and Automobiles", with control technologies in the automobile industry as the core technology, AZAPA Co, LTD set up business enterprises in not only the automobile industry but also in the fields of energy, communication, and IT. In order to create new automobile value and to realize an energy optimized society, many researchers (doctorate) and engineers who have a great deal of experience in automobile developments have come together. Through joint developments and technical cooperation with major companies in 3/3 the automobile related industries, excellent results in software developments for control and measurement, ECU, and telematics, etc have been achieved.
In particular, in the automobile industry, new value has been achieved in the area of devising shared platforms for plant models and control models, etc. for automobile developments, as well as defacto standardization of the architecture (design concept and structure) through (1) the model based solutions in the entire V-shape process based on far superior control technologies and model based technologies in the field of the power train, (2) field engineering which proposes new functional systems in the entire process from concept designs for vehicle development through to production, and (3) close cooperation with domestic automobile manufacturers as well as academic-industrial collaboration.
