The AUTOSAR standard has existed in its various versions for several years and is now being applied intensively in production projects in the automobile industry. The two current AUTOSAR Releases 4.0 and 3.2 are the versions that will play a dominant role in the production projects of the future. Both versions will be maintained and further developed in parallel over the next few years, and the new revisions will be used in more and more model-based software projects. This will particularly be the case with functionalities and ECUs that are developed systematically from scratch. This article therefore shows how to use established modeling and automatic production code generation techniques specifically to develop AUTOSAR 4.0- and AUTOSAR 3.2-compliant application software, and explains important points to note.
