Overview

Developing driver assistance systems and functions for autonomous driving requires increasingly sophisticated sensors to provide an accurate image of the vehicle's surroundings. One important requirement for radar sensors is range resolution, which defines how far apart from each other two objects have to be so that they can still be identified as individual objects. For the most demanding functions for autonomous driving, this resolution has to be in the centimeter range, which requires increased modulation bandwidth for modern radar sensors.
Watch our newest Innovation Coffee Break to learn how to test and validate these types of sensors with the new dSPACE Automotive Radar Test System, DARTS 9040-G, with its true 5 GHz bandwidth.
