Overview
In this webinar recording, Jace Allen will present system validation and verification processes, the necessary tools needed to validate advanced sensing technology, and what still needs to be solved to truly reach widespread Level 3-5 operation in commercial-vehicle fleets. The complex implementation of ADAS and Automated Vehicle (AV) software demands a powerful and flexible simulation and testing environment.
SIMPHERA is based on scenario-based testing, physics-based vehicle and sensor simulation, open standards, and cloud/SaaS technologies. This also directly supports the V&V process for agile AV software development, providing massive scalability and directly supporting the Continuous Integration/Development (CI/CD) technologies. SIMPHERA enables and simplifies a complex V&V process that scales the technology needed to achieve certification in the context of safety standards such as ISO26262 and SOTIF, as has been certified with TUV. It is based on industry-proven technologies, such as ASM and SIL/HIL testing, that have been in use for many years in the global commercial vehicle/off-highway industry, along with a powerfully more intuitive approach to using Scenario-based Testing.
- How to test and validate ADAS/AV systems using both HIL and SIL for either standalone AD controller/software or fully integrated systems
- Key Simulation areas such as Sensors, Vehicle dynamics, and Scenarios that are addressed for ADAS/AV testing
- The ISO26262 and SOTIF standards and how they enable risk mitigation and provide a process for Commercial Vehicle V&V that can be certified
- How to adapt this technology to use for CI/CD agile development environments and scale cloud/system simulation technology as needed
