FAQ 183: Incompatibility of SCALEXIO Application Binaries Caused by the Linux 32-Bit to Linux 64-Bit Switch

Question

I get the following message during download of a SCALEXIO application:
The operating system of the processing unit “<name of the SCALEXIO Real-Time PC>” with the serial number ‘<serial number>’ (32-bit) is incompatible with the real-time application (64-bit).

The operating system of the processing unit “<name of the SCALEXIO Real-Time PC>” with the serial number ‘<serial number>’ (64-bit) is incompatible with the real-time application (32-bit).

Cannot load the application. The application binary is incompatible. It was built for a '32-bit' (ID: 1) run-time environment. The installed firmware provides a '64-bit' (ID: 2) run-time environment.
