Support for FMI - Efficiently Integrating Various Modeling Approaches

Compliance with FMI ensures that models created in various modeling tools can be exported as real-time-capable Functional Mock-up Units (FMUs) and that these FMUs can readily be integrated in SCALEXIO-based HIL projects. In such projects, FMUs can be integrated together with other FMUs, virtual ECUs (V-ECUs), and Simulink® models. The user workflow for importing and connecting FMUs to other model interfaces and to HIL I/O interfaces is identical for all supported model types. Variable and parameter access during simulation is supported by ControlDesk® Next Generation, AutomationDesk and XIL API.

FMI Demonstration Project for the Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator SCALEXIO

This SCALEXIO-based hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) project demonstrates how Functional Mock-up Units (FMUs) from different vendors and Simulink models based on dSPACE Automotive Simulation Models (ASMs) can be integrated to generate real-time-capable simulation applications for executing HIL tests of real ECUs. A related VEOS project demonstrates the consistent reuse of project data in the dSPACE tool chain.

Demonstration Video: Integrating Functional Mock-up Units for HIL Simulation

This use case example demonstrates how Functional Mock-up Units (FMUs) from different vendors can be integrated to form one simulation application for hardware-in-the-loop simulation with dSPACE SCALEXIO. Other dSPACE software that is used includes Automotive Simulation Models (ASM), ControlDesk®, ConfigurationDesk®, and MotionDesk.
