dSPACE Inc. has been named a member of the Defense Automotive Technologies Consortium (DATC)

The non-profit consortium was established in 2016 to quickly and efficiently integrate innovative automotive technologies into military ground vehicles by greatly reducing the time for the Army to award projects deemed crucial to vehicle technologies development. Ultimately, it is the goal of the DATC is to speed the adoption of commercial technologies and improve defense capabilities.

The DATC has identified six core automotive technology focus areas:

  • Automotive Cybersecurity
  • Vehicle Safety Technologies
  • Vehicle Light Weighting
  • Autonomous Vehicles and Intelligent Systems
  • Connected Vehicles
  • Advanced Energy Storage Technologies

The SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (ITC), a SAE International affiliate, was selected by the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) to create the DATC. Headquartered in Troy, Michigan, USA, the consortium is open to small, medium or large companies, regardless of whether or not they have done business with the government in the past.
