Offline simulation for the functional verification of AUTOSAR software architectures is becoming increasingly important. However, further steps are necessary to bridge the gap to testing real electronic control units (ECUs). The architectures must be embedded in ECU models (including the basic software), and validation concepts must be created on this basis. This produces a more realistic context that requires using tools to access simulation systems consisting of virtual ECUs, including connected environment models.
