The UPB Racing Team is doing everything in its power to not only scratch the podium, but to finally be back on top!
About the team
The UPBracing Team e.V. was founded in 2006 at the University of Paderborn. Since then, their race car has been constantly developed, as has the know-how of the team members, and the team has also gotten bigger and bigger. From its beginnings with just seven members in 2006, the team now has more than 50 active members each season.
The UPBracing team has managed to reduce the weight of its race car by than 30 kg over the past few years. Overall performance has also increased over the years, as the team developed its own engine test bench with the support of dSPACE. The chassis components were optimized through extensive FEM calculations.
Today, the UPBracing team uses the dSPACE MicroAutoBox III as the central control unit for its driverless race car prototype. ConfigurationDesk is used to transfer control models from Simulink into a format that suitable for the MicroAutoBoxII.
