The University of Victoria Explores Advanced Simulation Capabilities

August 02, 2012: The University of Victoria (UVic) team is excited about its new advanced dSPACE-founded vehicle dynamics model. UVic has been using dSPACE hardware and software through the first year of EcoCAR 2 for purposes of modeling, simulation and prototype development. To meet the challenge of developing a realistic vehicle propulsion controller design for their all-wheel-drive (AWD) series-parallel plug-in HEV, engineering students from the Canadian university turned to dSPACE’s Vehicle-Dynamics Automotive Simulation Model (ASM) for greater fidelity and simulation capabilities. With this dynamic simulation tool, they are able to create a fully parameterized vehicle model with dynamic capabilities.
