Hardware Engineer (f/m/d) - Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Systems
In this role, you will work in the area of HIL simulation for the testing of electronic control units (ECUs) in automotive, off-highway, aerospace, and other industrial applications. You will be part of a team-oriented environment, involved in developing and applying dSPACE HIL simulation technology for the most exciting and cutting-edge control domains including e-mobility, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD).
Responsibilities
- Hardware design of dSPACE HIL simulators for customers’ ECU testing needs, including:
- High-voltage systems for battery and hybrid electric vehicles
- Load emulation systems for low-power auxiliary motors up to traction motors
- Radar and camera over-the-air simulation systems for ADAS and AD applications
- Mechanical test benches for steering systems, brake systems etc.
- High-speed bus communication like CAN-FD and Automotive Ethernet
- Analyze customer requirements. Determine simulator design.
- Develop the necessary information required to manufacture a custom HIL simulator.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Team and Applications Engineering Team to deliver turnkey HIL simulators that exceed customer expectations.
- Project ownership from concept to delivery.
- Support Project Managers in the concept phase of new HIL systems, as well as upgrades (in house or onsite).
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree with relevant electrical engineering experience. Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is desired:
- Design of electrical / electronic test equipment
- HIL system design
- Control electronics, sensors, actuators
- Bus systems like CAN, LIN and FlexRay
- EPLAN electric P8 design software
