1. General
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This patch can be installed only after the installation of
Model Compare 2023-B (23.1) from dSPACE Release 2023-B or 2024-A.


2. Content of This Patch
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This patch fixes the following issues:
   - Incompatibility with dSPACE Installation Manager of Release 2025-A
     repaired:
     If you have installed parts of Release 2025-A or the dSPACE Installation
     Manager 25.1 with a separate setup, Model Compare 2023-B can no longer be
     configured concerning the dSPACE MATLAB Connection. Install this hotfix
     to ensure compatibility again.

Additionally, fixes of the following issues already fixed with Patch 1
and Hotfix 1 and 2 are also included:
   - Some Simulink subsystems containing a lot of lines were slowing down
     the comparison time in the UI, i.e., the time needed to calculate
     the hierarchy correspondence. The Windows application did not react
     for a long time when the comparison session was started.
   - Signal lines were not always reconnected after Comfort Copy started
     from CLI.  
   - PDF report of Accelerated Comparison was enhanced.
   - Filters improved for use with Accelerated Comparison.
   - Read-only support for use with Git was incorrect. New CLI options
      '-LeftReadOnly on' and '-RightReadOnly on' are introduced.
   - Session load behavior was inconsistent if using Accelerated Comparison.
   - Indication of probably wrong or missing libraries was incorrect.
   - A stable interface for automerge was missing. 
      'ModelCompare.GitAutoMerge.cmd' can now be used as stable CLI.
   - A stable interface for report generation was missing.
      'ModelCompare.DiffReport.cmd' can now be used as stable CLI.
   - Dump library 'off' was not evaluated properly.
   - Even if no hook function was provided, time-consuming Simulink functions
     for hook determination were called.
   - Model Compare crashed after redump with "Specified Method is Not
     Supported" if the feature "Subsystem dump" was used.
   - Report did not create images if models with same name from
     different folders were compared and "Using running session" was
     configured.
   - Report did not create any images when Accelerated Model Comparison (AMC)
     warnings used.
   - Report generation failed if a Simulink annotation was present in the
     Simulink library block during image creation.
   - Comfort Copy did not merge lines properly if block with same name was
     present in a different location.
   - Resolving conflicts from Git extension might have led to
     "Operation failed" issue.
   - Comfort Copy feature might have failed during line merge when AMC
     was used.
   - Simulink Truth Table was not displayed in Navigator tree and not merged
     during a Comfort Copy.
   - The warning "We found unexpected differences" (due to incorrectly loaded
     Simulink libraries) was sometimes issued unneccesarily.


It is recommended that this patch for Model Compare 2023-B should be installed
by all users who have problems as described above and by all users before or
directly after installing dSPACE Release 2025-A or later. The same is true when 
installing dSPACE Installation Manager 25.1 or later.


3. Limitations and Workaround

The patch fixes the problems of Model Compare 2023-B as described above.

There is no limitation, except that you must have Model Compare 2023-B
installed from dSPACE Release 2023-B or 2024-A.

If you want to uninstall the patch once you have installed it, you have to
uninstall Model Compare 23.1 and reinstall it.


4. Installing the Patch
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To install the patch, you must be logged on with administrator rights.

Ensure that Model Compare 2023-B is installed.

To install, simply run the executable.
The setup will automatically locate and patch the Model Compare 2023-B
installation. The splash screen and the About box of Model Compare will
indicate if the patch was successfully installed.

Remember to install this patch again if you reinstall Model Compare 2023-B or
install Model Compare on an additional computer.
