- dSPACE Release 6.5
dSPACE Release 6.5 brings you a whole range of new functions for your development environment, such as the following:Automotive Simulation Models ASM 2.2
ASM 2.2 contains a new model, ASM Truck, for simulating trucks. Combined with ASM Trailer, it can be used to simulate a tractor vehicle plus trailer. The entire vehicle model has up to eight steerable axles, which can also have twin tires.
The ASM VehicleDynamics model includes an engine test bench model, which can be used to quickly implement virtual vehicle simulators and so on. The vehicle dynamics and brake hydraulics have also been expanded. They now include a vacuum brake power booster that uses a pneumatically generated force to support the braking force. The hydraulic valves have been extended considerably, so it is even easier to integrate measurement data or data sheets.
ASM Electric Components, the simulation model for vehicle electrical systems and electric drives, can now be completely parameterized in ModelDesk. The parameterization functions for the engine models have been extended. A virtual engine test bench can now be set up and evaluated from a graphical user interface. In ModelDesk, drive cycles such as NEFZ, FTP-75, and 10-15 mode are available. These can be applied directly to the engine models.
AutomationDesk 3.0
This new version of AutomationDesk makes the process of developing electronic control unit (ECU) tests more open and teamwork smoother. Moreover, it even supports parts of the new ASAM standard, HIL API, so it is easier to reuse tests on different HIL simulators. XML files can be imported to and exported from AutomationDesk, so tests created with proprietary or third-party tools can be migrated and used in AutomationDesk. Version control is also more precise: Individual tests or even individual test steps can now be placed under version control and edited separately.
ControlDesk 3.5
In ControlDesk 3.5, the Bus Navigator provides LIN support. Entire CAN and LIN networks can be displayed in an easy-to-understand tree. This gives you central, intuitive access to the CAN and LIN communication that was configured in the real-time model, including all its variants. The tree also provides a convenient way of generating layouts for RX LIN and TX LIN frames.
RTI AUTOSAR Package 1.1
Version 1.1 of the RTI AUTOSAR Package not only supports the AUTOSAR 3.0 and 3.1 standards, but also the use of AUTOSAR software components that are compliant with AUTOSAR 2.1. The RTI AUTOSAR Package is an extension to dSPACE's Real-Time Interface software. It enables you to integrate existing AUTOSAR software components directly in the MATLAB®/Simulink® environment and execute them as usual on dSPACE RCP or HIL systems.
RTI FPGA Programming Blockset1)
The new RTI FPGA Programming Blockset (Simulink® blockset) allows FPGA models created with the Xilinx® System Generator Blockset to be used on a dSPACE system. The blockset provides RTI blocks to implement the interface between the FPGA on a dSPACE I/O board and the board’s I/O, and the interface between the dSPACE I/O board and its processor board. The blockset supports the DS5203 FPGA Board. When combined with the DS5203 FPGA Board, the blockset can be used in numerous aplication scenarios, for example signal preprocessing, adapting new interfaces, or designing and testing new concepts for electrified powertrains by means of rapid control prototyping (RCP) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation. Automotive and nonautomotive controllers are both ideal application fields for the RTI FPGA Programming Blockset and the DS5203 FPGA Board.
SystemDesk 2.1
The modeling and simulation tool SystemDesk 2.1 supports AUTOSAR 3.1 and continues support of AUTOSAR 2.1 and 3.0. Another new feature is the import and export of AUTOSAR system descriptions in addition to software component descriptions and ECU configurations.
There is enhanced support for system modeling, and SystemDesk 2.1 also has an XCP interface for external tools to access the measurement and calibration variables of software components during simulation via XCP on Ethernet.
TargetLink 3.1
The new version of TargetLink has extended features, especially for the core functionality of the Code Generator, AUTOSAR support, and usability. For example, code and ASAP2 files for variables can be generated directly from the Data Dictionary independently of specific models. This facilitates the handling of legacy variables, and of parameters and variables shared by several models and subsystems. TargetLink also supports the generation of highly efficient code for bit operations and of vector code whose vector width can be defined flexibly via a macro. The AUTOSAR support of the AUTOSAR Blockset has been reworked to provide easy AUTOSAR migration, seamless integration into the Simulink® world, and the ability to generate conventional and AUTOSAR-compliant code from the same model. In addition to AUTOSAR 3.1, numerous other AUTOSAR features are supported, and interaction with architecture tools like dSPACE SystemDesk has been optimized. Usability has also been enhanced: TargetLink 3.1 provides user-configurable context menus, a message browser in the Data Dictionary, easy linking between the model and its parameterization, and so on. Target simulation for the Infineon TC 1767 in conjunction with Tasking compilers and complete traceability between the requirements and the generated code round off TargetLink 3.1.
Support for Windows 7
Following its successful launch, Windows® 7, the successor to Windows Vista, is being welcomed by users. So dSPACE has responded fast and ensured that dSPACE software is compatible with Windows 7, starting with dSPACE Release 6.5.
One advantage of Windows 7 over Windows Vista is enhanced compatibility with "old" programs, and it also provides greater speed. Windows 7 is better prepared for future hardware and software than Windows XP, now almost 10 years old, and its 64-bit version also provides greater memory capacity for professional applications.
Except for the CalDesk software, Release 6.5 from dSPACE supports all industry-relevant Windows 7 versions (though not Windows 7 Home and the Windows 7 Starter Edition). dSPACE Release 6.5 serves the 64-bit versions of Windows 7 in WOW64 mode.
