Researchers at the University of Paderborn are developing a new railway system, known as Neue Bahntechnik Paderborn (NBP). The system takes advantage of contact-free, linear drive technology, and uses existing railway tracks. Using dSPACE Prototyper, the NBP team optimized the control strategies on the test bench in preparation for further tests on an outdoor test site.
